Press Release: LA Punk Film Festival Celebrates 10 Years With Laemmle Screenings, an Intimate Film Market and Worldwide Streaming
Late-night cinema, a punk morning matinée and up-close filmmaker conversations bring independent film to West Los Angeles October 16–17. Private red carpet and press night opening kicks off October 9.

LOS ANGELES, CA — Independent. Fearless. Unfiltered. Unconventional. The 10th Anniversary LA Punk Film Festival brings that spirit to Laemmle Royal in West Los Angeles, with live screenings October 16–17, an intimate filmmaker market and an international streaming exhibition connecting audiences with participating films around the world.
Punk cinema isn’t limited to punk music. This year’s program spans documentary, comedy, animation, thriller, horror, music and experimental work—films with a point of view and the courage to surprise.
The festival highlights Coup 53 and 50 Years of Punk as works that speak to the crisis in the Middle East and current culture, alongside romantic comedy, horror, dystopian, late-night talk show, drama, thriller, animation and documentary programming.
Audiences can come for a screening, meet the makers and keep the conversation going throughout the festival.
October 9 — LA Punk Day: Private Red Carpet Opening
Beach Dancer Films, Encino · From 6:30 PM
The festival’s private press and industry opening combines a press junket, filmmaker interviews, a film screenings schedule and a celebratory atmosphere. Comedian Adrian Doughty hosts red carpet interviews, with independent press and media attending. Admission is by invitation and confirmed RSVP.

October 16 — Punk After Dark
Laemmle Royal · 10 PM–12:30 AM
A late-night program featuring 50 Years of Punk — Special Punk Crew Presentation, alongside Faultline, Mom Came & Dick Boxing, Opting In and Apartment 666, with special guests and Q&A.
October 17 — Punk Morning Matinée
Laemmle Royal · 10 AM–12:30 PM
Start the day with puppets, animation and unexpected independent stories. The tentative lineup includes Puppets in Paradise, Small Unfriendly Rodents, Staircase Stomp, El Depot, Hook, Infestation, It Makes its Way, Hell Is Other People, Night Terrors, Insidious and Peter.
A late Breakfast Club meetup at Café 50’s, 1–2 PM, gives filmmakers and audiences time to connect before the afternoon Film Market.
October 17 — LA Punk Film Market: Up Close & Personal
Laemmle Royal’s Lamb’s Den private screening room · 2:30 PM to 6:30 PM
With fewer than 20 seats per session, the Film Market offers a personal setting for screenings, filmmaker Q&A and roundtable discussions about indie film and filmmaking. Red carpet interviews with UK comedian Adrian Doughty extend the experience beyond the screening room.
Participating titles include Neutrals, Lonely Trojan, Punk Rockula: The Curse of UGLOR, Later Las Vegas and a selection of shorts. Guests can meet filmmakers, exchange ideas and build creative connections. Seating is first-come per session, with the room cleared between sessions.

Worldwide: Your Watch Is Your Vote
Full-film rentals begin October 9 on the LA Punk Film Festival Channel; trailers are free to watch. International Audience Awards recognize first, second and third place through streaming viewing and engagement metrics. Audiences rent and watch participating films—no separate ballot is required. Award viewing closes October 18.
The PUNX: LA Punk Film Awards
A television-style awards show is planned for release before Halloween and will remain on the channel alongside participating rental films. Winners receive a large pin and a personalized engraved dog-collar trophy: a PUNX.
The channel’s continuing exhibition and filmmaker profit-share model extends the festival beyond Los Angeles, letting an international audience experience the festival and take part in the audience awards just by watching.
